With a large number of notebook manufacturers today, there are many options for laptops available. For a laptop computer that under $300, most of us may expect it will have an inferior design, slow performance, and acceptable screen display quality.

Fortunately, there is massive positive competitiveness between companies in designing and producing these artificial intelligence products.

So, maybe before this, a laptop with this budget category doesn’t catch much attention. But, Acer Aspire One from Acer may change that kind of assumption.

Acer Aspire 1 comes with a thin and light body, just like other ultraportable laptops in different price brackets. The 0.7-inches of thickness and only at 3.64 pounds of weight may able to attract audiences just like its competitors.

However, it is a plastic-clad design and non-optical drive laptop computer. The dimensional features or measurements of this laptop is 9.7 x 13.5 x 0.7 (L x W x H), and it is portable enough to use a different environment other than home.

The manufacturer of this smart little device provides it with a chiclet-style keyboard to help its user when doing a word-processing task. The well-spaced of the keys design may discover quickly by fingertips.

As expected from the price range laptop category, it does not feature with a backlit keyboard. Aside from that, according to Acer, the easy-to-use precision touchpad is more responsive than traditional touchpads.

As for the connectivity, Aspire 1 also comes with the IEEE 802.11ac WiFi (Dual-Band 2.4GHz and 5GHz) and built-in Bluetooth. On the left side, you’ll find an HDMI port for video output, USB 3.0 Type-A port, and an Ethernet port.

In addition to that, the opposite side has a charging port, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and an audio jack. Plus, there is also two LED. It is for a battery and power indicator status.

The system of front camera or webcam comes with Aspire 1 is only at 640 x 360 quality. It may deliver an awful and low-quality image resolution, but, based on its cost, I think it’s obvious.

Just looking at its price tag, you may expect this 14-inches machine built with 1366-by-768 max resolutions display quality.

Surprisingly, it’s not like what most of us expect, and instead, it has a Full HD screen with 1920×1080 resolutions. Maybe the brightness and viewing angles which the screen display has is not as high as the other fancy ultrabooks got.

But, with the Full HD capacity, it may deliver you a good experience when watching HD videos and viewing web content.

The battery capacity of the Acer Aspire 1 A114-32-C1YA notebook is 4810 mAh. And, according to Acer, the A114-32-C1YA has a battery life of up to 6.5 hours.

Actual battery life and performance may be mostly less than the test results and varies, and it depends on use, power management setting, software, and other elements.

If you are aiming for a laptop to do simple or basic processing tasks such as web surfing with several tabs open, basics productivity task, play basics gaming, and so on, Aspire One can handle it.

The webcam still can be used for video chat but has a lack of image quality appearance. You may choose the Chromebook instead of this notebook, but this type of portable device generally has smaller displays.

Plus, from my point of view, the Windows operating system is much longer in this line and more versatile, especially the Windows 10.

Thanks for the comment. Acer Aspire 1 is one of the best laptops under $300 budget as far as I know. Chromebook may also good for people who looking for under budget laptop but for some reason, I recommend Windows over Chrome OS.
