Open Windows Settings and select Privacy settings. On the left pane scroll down and navigate to Background apps.
Or, you can press Windows key + S, type background apps, and hit Enter.
Below the Choose which apps can run in the background and turn off the button next to the app to prevent it operates continuously.
Also, you can complete disabling all the available apps. On the Background Apps, turn off the button under the Let apps run in the background.
Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc)
Besides, you can utilize the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) to stop all the apps that perform in the background. However, this method is unavailable for Windows Home Edition users. So, use the following steps:
Press Windows key + S, type gpedit.msc, and select or click Run as administrator.
On the Local Group Policy Editor window left pane, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Privacy.
Double click to edit the “Let Windows apps run in the background” on its right pane.
At the “Let Windows apps run in the background” window, select Enable.
Under the “Options:” click the drop-down menu beside the “Default to all apps:” and select Force Deny.
And then select Apply, click OK and restart your laptop or computer.
